PocketStack bear holding a stack of databases

Commitments

Our commitments to you

You are trusting your data and the uptime of your product to a service that is still young, run by one person. I believe trust is built with transparency and explicit contracts — not long legal terms. These are the promises I make to everyone who uses PocketStack. They apply to every plan.

1

You own your data

You can export everything in PocketStack at any time — raw SQLite files plus all uploads — no questions, no friction, no waiting period. There is no “reduced export” and no “depends on your plan”. Your data is yours.
2

No technical lock-in

PocketStack is built on PocketBase, an open-source project. If PocketStack ever disappears, you can download your SQLite database and run plain PocketBase with it — no migration, no rewrite. It keeps working. That is a deliberate architectural decision, not a happy accident.
3

Transparent, stable pricing

The price on the pricing page is the price you pay — no surprise charges, no “starting at”, no fine print. Price increases can happen, but with two non-negotiable rules:
  • Increases only apply to new customers. If you are already a customer, you stay at the price you joined at, for as long as you keep paying without interruption.
  • Changes are announced 60 days in advance.
4

No surprise charges

When you hit a plan limit, the service pauses — it does notauto-generate an extra invoice. You explicitly decide whether to upgrade or wait for the next cycle. No overage fees. No “we charged you $400 for a spike”. You stay in control.
5

Real privacy

  • We never sell your data. Ever.
  • We don't train AI models on your content.
  • We don't track your end-users on our behalf — you decide what to track in your own apps.
  • Operational logs are deleted after 30 days.
6

A continuity plan

PocketStack is maintained by one person. That means there is a real risk it could be discontinued for reasons that have nothing to do with the product (health, life, a change of focus). If I ever decide to wind the service down:
  • 90 days' notice by email.
  • Export tools working until the very last day.
  • Clear instructions for running plain PocketBase with your data.

You never wake up to a service that is simply gone.

7

You talk to a person

You talk to me. Not a bot, not an enterprise ticketing system, not “Tier 1 support”.
  • Email: a real address, answered personally.
  • A reply within one business day (Mon–Fri).
  • A community Discord.

Why this page exists

The SaaS products that failed their users in recent years (aggressive lock-in, surprise price changes, abrupt shutdowns) always broke implicitpromises, never contracts. Explicit promises make breakage visible — and that is the only real long-term defense of your trust. If I ever break one of these promises, call me out publicly. That's fair.
